I loved this so much! I was in 6th grade in 1984 and my favorite two songs were “Beat It” and anything from the Footloose soundtrack — haha. Does that count as one song? And then by ‘86 I was full-volume RunDMC, Prince and Beastie Boys. I can still smell Coppertone suntan oil when I hear “It’s Tricky.”
Oh my goodness, Stacey... First of all, I'm just realizing that I haven't received any notifications on comments, so I'm catching up. Second, you and I would have been fast friends back then. And last, "It's Tricky" was the theme song to a video game my husband was playing while I was pregnant with Devan. TO THIS DAY I feel nauseous when I hear it! It conjures memories of being soooo sick during that pregnancy!
I love this! I'm 10 years older than you -- my mom was 22 when she had me, 19 when she had my brother. When my dad worked graveyard shift in the summer in the early 1970s, she'd put on Neil Diamond's live album and let us stay up all night dancing. We'd eat breakfast when my dad got in and then all sleep.

I love this memory!!!
And now it occurs to me that breakfast for dinner is one of the cheapest meals you can make :)
