My first major in college was color theory, and I dabbled in interior design. Being on the sensory processing sensitivity spectrum, color has always infused every corner of my life and has always been important to me. 🥰

Decorated six of my own houses and have spent decades experimenting with color. I can’t even imagine a life without color.

My office is a slightly more jewel-toned version of Haint blue, closer to saturated Tiffany and Aqua. 🙂

I love teal and deep turquoise, but also all ranges of purple (but not mauve), orange and marigold yellow and Chinese red, lime green, magenta, and fuchsia … ok I’ll stop. lol

I also love all those colors! Mauve reminds me of the '90s when my mother's color palette was mauve and country blue. 😅 And I'd thought her seafoam green and peach in the '80s was bad.

You really wrote an in depth piece here! Love it! Color is amazing and it's healing. We can literally put it on our bodies (like patches or scarves) to assist the body in healing and we can imagine it working that way with our bodies too - seeing color over areas that need extra love. ❤️

YES!!! I love that thought so much. In a similar way, I do that with my lipstick. Do I wanna feel like a badass today? Fuchsia. Wanna feel a little seductive? Blood red.

This is so fascinating! I'm also a Gemini rising and my colors are purple and mint green, with a dash of turqiouse. Mermaid colors. And I don't know who I would be if I wasn't drowning in purple. 😆🧜🏾‍♀️💜✨

Yes!!! Mermaid colors for the missing water in my chart! My chart is mostly fire and air, so I'm always gravitating toward colors I can dive into.

I need to read the rest of your posts. I just discovered you.

Although my favorite colors are fuchsias and purples, I also love blues and aquas. I find I need blue light. I bought blue lights for my white holiday tree, and to go around the inside of my house. I use lots of blues and fuchsias in my artwork. Even my logo is blue.

While reading your article I was reminded of the bright colors worn by the men of the Andes, and how they are sometimes made fun of by people of other cultures for wearing "girls" colors. That is so unfortunate IMO. What is also sad and unfortunate is how some male inmates in America are forced to wear pink underwear to emasculate them. But as you wrote, colors have different meanings in other parts of the world. Pink underwear might bother some men, but not others.

How unfortunate to judge the world without seeking to understand, and how appalling to do so with such a narrow lens! I'm so grateful you found my work! I hope you enjoy it!

I feel like I’ll need to read this post more than once, there’s just so much there. What jumped out to me initially, is that when I paint and draw I’m always drawn to reds, oranges and yellows. All the sunrise/sunsets colours as my friend tells me, when she looks at my work. It brings me a lot of joy and connection. Mauves and pinks, blues and greens too.

Strange too, that in the last decade (and since becoming chronically unwell/plus having small children), that I only really wear black, dark green or grey. I will often say how I dress my children in the colours of the rainbow, but I’m not sure what my own palette is anymore!

I’m looking forward to drawing cards from my decks and seeing what jumps out now. As a spiritual person, I’d love to notice if I can make other connections too. So much to journal about, thank you 🙏🏻 Love your work!

You have made my day! Thank you so much for your kind words. As for exploring color through the tarot, I hope you continue to shade your life in the best possible outcomes.
