On Friday, August 9, I had the honor and pleasure of teaching a class titled Tarot for the Creative Soul inside The Symposium, an online community for tarot and psychology enthusiasts created by Shannon Knight, host of The Tarot Diagnosis podcast.
Our workshop objective was to identify and put into practice methods for using the tarot to ignite, nurture, and revitalize creativity. Many of the workshop activities were inspired by adapting team-building exercises I’ve learned over the years in my Muggle career, while others were pulled directly from my new book, Mystic Storyteller: A Writer’s Guide to Using the Tarot for Creative Inspiration.
After the workshop, I received an overwhelming positive response, resulting in comments around how participants were excited to start using the tools I’d provided during class. Several even headed over to BackerKit after class where they pledged their support to the Mystic Storyteller campaign (which ended August 31).
Because I’m so grateful for the feedback I’ve received from both the workshop AND support for the BackerKit campaign, I thought I might offer you, dear Substack subscriber, the same instruction and activities we enjoyed in our class.
Over the next four weeks,
I hope you enjoy this Tarot for the Creative Soul series and find inspiration to ignite, nurture, and revitalize your own creative soul.
In Part One, let’s put a fun spin on introductions... But first…
Download Your Part One Workbook
If you’d like to work with these activities at a later date, you can download your complimentary Tarot for the Creative Soul Part One Workbook here and at the button below.
And now for our Part One activity…
Here’s the situation:
Aliens have landed, and they’re interested in getting to know you. There’s only one catch: they don’t speak any of the languages spoken on Earth. To communicate who you are, you’ll need to use your tarot deck.
Here’s the task:
Shuffle your deck and select a card that best represents you.
In the comments, share which card you chose and why you believe it can best relay your story.
Next in the Series: Igniting Your Creative Soul
Keep an eye on your inbox next week for Part Two. Until then, may your soul be so creative that even the aliens can’t resist your charms.
