Some of my favorite storytellers are entrepreneurs who enrich the lives of others through their small businesses. One such storyteller is my dear and fearless friend, Shannon Knight.
About Shannon
Shannon Knight (she/her) is a queer psychotherapist in private practice who also happens to love tarot. She is the creator and host of The Tarot Diagnosis Podcast. Each episode Shannon works to demystify tarot and explore its connections to mental and emotional health while implementing its inherently helpful tools to better understand ourselves and those around us. Join her wherever you listen to podcasts as she unravels common struggles related to our behavior, thought patterns, emotions, and relationships while pulling cards to facilitate growth and to help create the life and relationships we all desire.
In the upcoming Mystic Storyteller book and companion tarot deck, I am delighted to announce that Shannon Knight is our Queen of Pentacles!
How does Shannon embody the Queen of Pentacles?
Queen of Pentacles: The Practical Nurturer
The Queen of Pentacles is grounded, solid, unwavering, and dependable. Like their Page and Knight counterparts, this Queen is steady, resolute, consistent, and persistent in their endeavors. They dedicate all of their time and effort to the supportive role they play in their home and work environments—and work, they most certainly do. Although it might go unnoticed by those within their everyday circle, the work the Queen of Pentacles is doing starts beneath the surface, growing upward and outward. They channel their energy into planting seeds—people, activities, and initiatives—that will grow and thrive.
This Queen believes in the Law of Attraction, and they subscribe to the thought that luck doesn’t happen on its own. One manifests their achievements and wealth (whatever that looks like to them) not by chance or magick alone but by consistency, persistence, and adopting a positive yet realistic mindset. The Queen of Pentacles might attract abundance and fortune, but they are equally keen on self-preservation, and protecting their home and work by establishing boundaries. They keep their finances in check, and they are incredibly wise about growing and nurturing their economics, investments, and savings.
If this card resonates with you as a writer, you might enjoy working in your home and/or working from home. Therefore, work-life balance is a high priority. Similarly, writing-life balance is measured with equal importance. How can you set aside time apart from home and work to sow seeds that will grow your writing practice? What preparations can you make now in order to yield a thriving and practical writing routine down the road? Furthermore, if this card represents a fictional character muse, what hardships might they find themselves nurturing that others might not even see? How is making life easier for everyone else taxing for their own wellbeing?
Give The Tarot Diagnosis a Listen!
Be sure to check out The Tarot Diagnosis wherever you listen to your podcasts. As a psych major (and generally nosy person), I thoroughly enjoy listening to Shannon’s weekly lessons and/or interviews around topics related to the human experience. I know I’m biased because Shannon is my friend, but I was a listener before our friendship, and I cannot adequately express how excellent her podcast is. Listen for yourself!
The Mystic Storyteller book and tarot deck is being launched on BackerKit this August. That means YOU will have the chance to demonstrate your Magician skills by helping manifest this endeavor. Stay tuned for a release date and other details! As a subscriber, you’re on the fast track to staying updated on this magickal project.
I cannot say it enough: THANK YOU for your interest, your kind words of encouragement, and your celebration of Mystic Storyteller! If you are not already following @MysticStorytellerTarot on Instagram, please click the image below.
