What’s the story behind the story in your favorite songs? Your favorite movie or TV show characters? When the world around you feels uninspiring or out of control, you can always connect to music and story. Listen to your favorite songs on repeat, watch your favorite movies, re-read your favorite books, and then imagine a back story for the characters. Romance writers can especially find inspiration by imagining what might happen if a song or movie or book started or ended differently. Some of the best fanfiction has been inspired by stories and songs written before them.
