Sometimes, creativity is an elusive little devil. During times when I want to be creative but can’t seem to find anything to conjure a spark, I turn to the tarot.
In Part Two of my Tarot for the Creative Soul series, I’m offering three exercises designed to spark your creativity, whether you need help getting your day started or passing time in a creative way.

Inspiration-by-Number
is a one-card meditation using a counting method of selecting your tarot cards. This method can be helpful as you’re just getting your day started and you want a creative boost. With a little easy math and your tarot cards, you can spark creative inspiration.
You try it.
First, you’ll add up the numbers in the day. You might have to reduce any two-digit number to one by adding the numbers together.
Now, shuffle your deck and when you’re ready to pull cards, count that many cards from the top. The last card you lay down is your card to meditate on that day.
Ask yourself, “How can I spark creative inspiration today?”
In the comments, share which number you ended up with and which card you pulled!
Have you ever heard of the circles doodling activity?
In the Muggle corporate world, one of the activities that leaders facilitate to inspire creativity, while also providing something to do while sitting through meetings or boring presentations, is a simple doodling activity involving circles.
The number of circles is up to the person facilitating, and today, we will use seven circles and seven tarot cards to spark a little creativity... while also passing time lest ye succumb to Death by PowerPoint.
Here’s what to do...
First, you’re going to shuffle your tarot deck and select seven cards.
Next, look at each card and use the template in your workbook to sketch a circle-shaped doodle to represent your interpretation of that card.
I’ll show you mine. Can you tell the what and why behind my sketches?
Cue Destiny’s Child because you’re a survivor!
Here’s the situation:
You’re stranded on an island, and you only have five things with you to help you survive... and they can’t be other people.
Shuffle your deck and pull five cards
What items/objects do each of the cards represent?
How can you use them to survive your predicament?
What’s the story behind your cards? Leave a comment and share!
