A few months back, I built an Indie Bookstore on my website that hosts the work of my fellow indie authors, most of whom self-publish their books and depend on the help of others to market them.
Marketing is hard, y’all.
Whether you’re self- or trad-published, every author can use a Street Team to help get their work into the hands of readers who might become lifelong fans.
As the weather continues to cool, do check out the selection of books I’ve curated for autumn reading.
This post showcases a few of my favorites.
Oh! And after you read a book, please don’t forget to leave a kind review on both Amazon and Goodreads. Reviews are the lifeblood of indies like my friends and me, and taking the time to do so is greatly appreciated!
Inspired by my grandmother’s childhood, Only the Rocks That Float is a Southern Gothic story about a pair of interracial twins who are sent to live on a farm in the Depression-era Deep South. What they experience is both magical and heartbreaking.
Dark secrets. Dangerous power. And a fate bound to a forest entwined with magic. All you need to go with Sonja F. Blanco’s Witch of Ware Woods trilogy is your best black frock, your riding boots, and your wand… to use as a bookmark, of course.
Welcome to Obeh City, where the Method rules every aspect of its citizens' lives. On the surface, there is order and contentment, but the gleaming perfection is only surface deep. Grinding poverty and immense wealth exist within arm's reach of each other and those who cannot conform to the Method’s expectations find themselves in great peril no matter the balance of their bank account. From this toxic brew emerges a new class of being, the Fadian. However, their existence and increasing powers are heralds of hope. These beings represent a greater threat than the secret power struggles of the city’s elite: complete annihilation. Dive into the exciting world of the Fadian Trilogy and find out their fates.
Magic … A Prophecy … And a Demon. Who knew freshman year in college would be so complicated? Dacia Wolf & the Prophecy is the electrifying debut novel in the Dacia Wolf series. If you like magic and adventure mixed with a touch of romance, you’ll love Mandi Oyster’s spellbinding series.
Tarot & Self-Discovery is your personal guidebook to reach for when you need deeper self-reflection, questions rooted in psychological theory and practice, and a way to feel grounded in your tarot practice.
